How workshops for Corporate Traveller led to more than $1.5 million in corporate travel and a genuine two-way business relationship.
Corporate Traveller helps Australian businesses manage corporate travel through a combination of dedicated travel managers, technology and 24/7 support. Part of the Flight Centre Travel Group, it works with more than 4,500 Australian businesses.
The travel sector has seen an extraordinary amount of change. Systems, priorities and customer expectations continue to shift, and organisations that stay ahead are the ones that keep generating good ideas.
Corporate Traveller recognised that supporting its people meant helping them respond well to change and think with greater clarity and confidence.
Few industries have experienced as much change as travel. For Corporate Traveller, staying on top has meant continually adapting to new priorities, systems and expectations while also developing the kind of fresh thinking that keeps the business ahead. The challenge was to support people through constant change while strengthening their ability to develop and communicate ideas.
Preferred Training Networks was engaged to design and deliver two workshops: Change Management and Thought Leadership. Both programs focused on practical workplace thinking rather than theory for theory's sake. Designing the workshops also deepened our own understanding of the travel sector, building on our work with Qantas, Puffing Billy, Boeing, Queensland Rail and Public Transport Victoria.
Both workshops were very well received, with fantastic participant feedback. But the bigger outcome came afterwards. Impressed by how Corporate Traveller operated, Preferred Training Networks made them our number one travel partner and has since spent more than $1.5 million in corporate travel with them.
The workshops were built around the realities of working in a fast-changing sector.
Key elements of the approach included:
What stood out was not only the participant response, but the way Corporate Traveller operated. Their systems were strong, their people were responsive, and there was a clear focus on making travel easier for the client rather than adding more layers to the process. It made such an impression that Preferred Training Networks decided to make Corporate Traveller our number one travel partner, turning a training relationship into a genuine two-way business relationship.
For a training organisation delivering workshops across Australia and New Zealand, travel is a major part of what we do.
Corporate Traveller’s model of combining a dedicated travel manager with technology and 24/7 support has suited the way we operate.
Having a travel partner who understands our business has made a genuine difference when:
We were initially brought in to help develop their people. In the process, they showed us enough about how they worked that we trusted them with our own travel.
That is probably one of the better endorsements we can give.
Preferred Training Networks has spent more than $1.5 million in corporate travel with Corporate Traveller since the workshops.
Both the Change Management and Thought Leadership workshops were very well received, with fantastic feedback from participants.
A training engagement grew into a lasting business relationship, with Corporate Traveller becoming our number one travel partner.
David is an excellent training facilitator. He took the time to adapt examples that we could really relate to. He is an EXCELLENT listener! And he is really good at picking apart what individuals say (in a good way) and applying the training to situations we bring forward. As someone who rarely feels comfortable speaking up in a situation like this, his approach was very much appreciated.
Preferred Training Network developed a coaching training package that really met our needs and they made the contextualizing process so easy. Their customer service before and after was excellent and their trainer was refreshing and innovative and really knew his stuff. A pleasure to do business with.

Managing the pressures that surround teaching, from parent expectations to workplace behaviour under pressure, takes more than good intentions.
