Australia’s First Referred Coaching Network

Preferred Training Networks - Workplace Focused Courses, Trainings & Workshops
If you’re looking for a coaching program that’s built around your organisation and not someone else’s template, you’re in the right place.

Preferred Training Networks is Australia’s first referred training network. What that means for coaching is that you get instant access to some of the best coaches in the country. These are specialists who have been recommended by Senior Leaders and Managers from Australia’s top companies. Every coach in our network has 10 or more years of experience, and if they don’t consistently deliver, they don’t stay in the network.

We’ll work with you to understand what you need, match the right coach to the right person, and make sure the whole thing is tracked against real outcomes.
In-house training done properly is a different experience. We come to your workplace. We learn about your organisation before we arrive. We use your real scenarios and your real challenges as the material. And we back it all with a guarantee that almost nobody else in the industry offers.

What Makes Our Coaching Different

There’s no shortage of coaching providers out there. Here’s what sets us apart.

You get referred specialists, not a platform

Every coach has been personally recommended by senior leaders from organisations like yours. We've been building this network for over 20 years. You won't find our coaches on a directory. You'll find them through us.

We work around you, not the other way around

We don't arrive with a packaged program and ask you to fit into it. We take the time to understand your organisation, your people, and what success looks like for you. Then we build the coaching around that.

You'll know it's working

We agree on what success looks like before we start. You'll get a mid-point check-in and a wrap-up report at the end. The right people in your organisation stay in the loop throughout, without compromising anything that's said in the room.

Types of Coaching We Offer

Executive Coaching

For senior leaders with complex responsibilities. We work on the things that matter at that level: stakeholder management, strategic thinking, how you communicate under pressure, and how you lead through change.

Leadership Coaching

For leaders at all levels, from frontline managers through to the middle of the organisation. Practical stuff: having the hard conversations, delegating properly, keeping people accountable, building a team that actually functions.

Transition Coaching

For people stepping into a new role or navigating a big change. The shift from doing the work to leading the people who do it is harder than it looks. We help people make that transition well.

Team Coaching

For teams that want to work better together. We'll look at how you communicate, how you make decisions, where the friction is, and what you can do about it. Delivered in-person or virtually.

Coaching on Retainer

Some organisations prefer ongoing access to coaching rather than a fixed program. We can set up a retainer arrangement with pre-allocated hours, priority scheduling, and the same coaches over time so the relationship builds. Ask us about this when you get in touch.

Coaching After a Workshop

We know that training is an investment of time and money, and we want to make sure it sticks. That’s why we offer a few things after every workshop, at no extra cost.

The group can come back for a complimentary refresher session with the same facilitator two or three months after the training. Participants can also call our office for two weeks after the workshop to talk through any challenges they didn’t want to raise in the room.

Coaching is also available after a workshop for those who want to go further. As a rule of thumb, around 20% of participants are ready for coaching off the back of a program. It’s not for everyone, but for the right people it makes a real difference. Think of it as the optional icing on top. A targeted approach to those individuals is one of the most effective ways to sustain the change that training starts.

Our Approach: The GROW Model

Most of our coaching is built around the GROW model. It’s one of the most widely used coaching frameworks in the world, and for good reason. It keeps sessions focused, practical, and moving forward.

Goal

We start by getting clear on what you're actually trying to achieve. Not in vague terms, but specifically. What does success look like? How will you know when you've got there? A well-defined goal makes everything else in the coaching process sharper.

Reality

Before working out how to get somewhere, it helps to be honest about where you are right now. We look at what's actually happening, what's getting in the way, and what resources and strengths you already have to work with.

Options

This is where the real thinking happens. We explore what you could do, not just what's obvious. Good coaching opens up possibilities that weren't on the table before. We'll challenge assumptions and look at the situation from different angles.

Way Forward

Insights don't mean much without action. At the end of every session, we agree on what you're going to do before the next one. Small, concrete steps. This is what turns a good conversation into real change.

How It Works

01

We start with a conversation

We'll meet with you to understand what's going on, what you're trying to achieve, and why coaching is the right tool for it. We don't make assumptions.

02

We find the right coach

We'll put together a shortlist of coaches who are a good fit for the person and the situation. Before anything is locked in, there's a chemistry session to make sure the match works.

03

We use the right tools

Where it makes sense, we'll bring in psychometric or 360-degree assessment tools to help identify development priorities. What tools we use, if any, is agreed with you upfront.

04

The coaching happens

Regular sessions, virtual or in-person, with practical activities in between. Fortnightly or monthly, whatever works best for the person and the program.

05

We review and report

At the end, we measure progress against what we agreed at the start. You'll get a clear report, and the person being coached gets a clear sense of how far they've come.

Coaching in Action

Case Study 1
From Technical Expert to Leader

A manager who had been promoted after 7 years in the team was struggling to make the shift. He kept doing the work himself instead of developing the people around him. His team had become dependent on him, and he was running out of capacity.

We ran a 3-month coaching program using MBTI, CINERGY Conflict Intelligence and VAKAD Learning Styles. Fortnightly sessions worked through real challenges as they came up, supported by reflective journaling between sessions.

By the end, the team culture had shifted. People were solving problems themselves. He was delegating, not rescuing. His manager noticed the difference.

Case Study 2
Managing Pressure at a Senior Level

A senior professional came to us wanting to be less reactive in high-stakes situations. He was frustrated by poor preparation from others and it was showing up in meetings. He was sceptical about coaching as he was more used to being the expert in the room than the one being developed.

We matched him with a registered organisational psychologist who could work at his level. We took our time building trust before introducing any tools. MBTI came in once the relationship was established. From there, practical strategies were developed and tested in real situations.

The frustration didn’t disappear, but it stopped running the show. Colleagues noticed he was calmer under pressure. What used to read as impatience started reading as authority.

Who Is Coaching Right For?

Frequently Asked Questions

A training course gives a group of people knowledge and skills. Coaching is one-on-one. It’s about helping a specific person apply what they know in their specific situation. The two work really well together, and we can help you think through which is right for your people.
Most of our programs run for 3 to 6 months, with sessions every 2 to 4 weeks. We’ll agree on the right structure based on what you’re trying to achieve. If you need something more flexible, ask us about retainer options.
Yes. We deliver coaching via Teams, Zoom, Webex, or whatever platform your organisation uses. We also do in-person across all major Australian cities, or a combination of both. For most programs we’d recommend starting with an in-person session to get things off on the right foot.
We’ll put together a shortlist based on the person’s context, industry, and what they’re working on. Then there’s a chemistry session before anything is committed to. If it’s not the right fit, we find someone who is.
Yes. What happens in coaching sessions stays between the coach and the person being coached. The relevant people in your organisation will get regular progress updates covering themes, progress, and next steps, but not the detail of what’s discussed.
We do. Some organisations prefer ongoing access to coaching rather than locking into a fixed program. We can arrange pre-allocated hours each month, priority scheduling, and the same coaches over time. Just ask when you get in touch.
